Lazarus Longing

3 03 2010

the shower radiant
streams of light down torso and thighs
the imagination’s music and a null detergent
screams of awakening, birth and re-birth

it’s not something that you learn by rote
but you stumble into it like a fool on streroids
a wish is better than coronary collapse
and only a small lapse of attention will doom you
to the fate of eternal debt and damnation
a fickle cry from the underbrush
like chasms reasoned and circumspect.

a sip of spirits distilled should tell you
it’s all a crisis rendered mute
and all my estute suspicions
make a negative echo
like Lazarus longing for life renewed.
