Sunset In The Morning

12 02 2010

When Mercury is in perihelion
non-dancing feet get blisters
Mercury has a year every three months
and a day that lasts two months

this means that twice a year
the sun rises in the East and then sets in the East

does a big U-turn in the sky
just at the time of perihelion
which is when the orbiting planet
is closest to it’s center of gravity

I’m crazy about the word ‘PERIhelion’
It reminds me of my love
for her the sun sets in the morning
and the day turns backwards
the result of an eccentric orbit

if I had wings on my ankles
I would be faster than FedEx
and my message to you
would be brief as the Mercurian year
Love is Full of Crazy Seasons
